Machine Trades
Students in the Machine Trades program will learn about a variety of tools related to machine tool operation. Students will setup and operate engine lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, cut-off-saws, and surface grinders. Other areas covered will be layout, precision measurement, shop math, basic computer aided machining (Mazak and Haas), arc and oxyacetylene welding. Advanced students will work with advanced machine operations and set-ups along with electrical discharge machine operations, tool and cutter grinding, jigs and fixtures, advanced computer aided machining, tig, mig, and wire feed welding. Students learn in a hands-on lab, implementing classroom theory with individual and team projects.
