The Gratiot Isabella Technical Education Center (GI-TEC) integrates Career Ready into the grading of its Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs because it measures the essential, foundational skills—Problem Solving, Collaboration, Personal Management and Communication—that are necessary for success in any technical career field. By including Career Ready proficiency as a significant component of the final grade, GI-TEC incentivizes students to prioritize and master these workplace competencies. This grading approach ensures that students leave the program not only with technical skills but also with qualifications that demonstrates they meet industry-recognized standards for overall career readiness.
